Shawnee Trail Exhibit
Museum launches first traveling exhibit that can't be seen anywhere else

Artifacts and memorabilia that pays homage to the Shawnee Trail are on display for the first time ever at the Frisco Heritage Museum. The Shawnee Trail Exhibit explores the first Texas cattle trail to northern markets and displays authentic cowboy artifacts.

The exhibit is installed on the museum's second floor and will be on view through January 3, 2010 during regular museum hours.

The extensive display is made possible by Doug Harman, a long-time collector of the most comprehensive western artifacts, and the exhibit consists of clothing, accessories, maps and some items that have never been shown before.

Visitors will be inspired by the legacy of the cowboys who used the Shawnee Trail to take their cattle north to the Missouri markets.

The traveling exhibit on loan and in development is part of a larger cooperative with cities that run the length of the Shawnee Trail from Waco to Pottsboro. More information on this new partnership is available through the
Shawnee Trail Website.
